Oh boy, I for one don't have the time to write out a custom procedure for you to use to get started, nor do I know exactly what you need, so...
First, create a signature*... when we know what gear, SW, HW you have, we can better help you.
Second, have patience, you're not going to learn S1 in 10 minutes.
Here's a PreSonus site with all kinds of tutorials... pick the ones where you need info.
http://support.presonus.com/categories/20065434-Studio-One-v2
There's also a manual built-in to S1... under 'Help' at the top menu.
Please add your Signature/Info to your Profile here.

tks for reply. I have an old version of Cakewalk pro audio 9 connected to a casio cdp220 which I have hooked up to a desktop with windows XPwhich I used to record myself playing and have made a cd,so I am reasonable ok with connecting the cables etc I would love to use a modern daw like s1 which is why I am trying to connect it to my laptop with windows 7 and the Yamaha. but I think my one problem is downloading the correct drivers to get midi in/out and to get the piano to talk to the computer.I will connect piano to computer and then maybe I can be a bit more explicit on what the problem is.

I have to use this post because I cannot see any other way to contact you. I have just bought the audiobox and cannot register it The instruction says insert the disc, there is No disc. When I go to register I am asked for a 20 or 28 digit code. There is NO such code anywhere. The dealer has not come back to me. THE WHOLE DEAL SUCKS.

Hi Jack...
Can't help with the Audiobox but there should be something in the packaging somewhere (presuming it's new) if not try doing a search in the forum section for this hardware.
Re; the DGX 620 you have two possible methods for recording; the audio output from the phones out via the Audiobox, or the Host-usb output, to record the midi performance, either via the Audiobox (if it has a usb input) or directly into a usb input on your laptop.
Whichever way you choose you will need to ensure that S1 is set up to receive the audio/midi input, which is done in the setup section of S1 where you'll need to point S1 at both the DGX 620 (keyboard instrument) and the Audiobox (presumably with the correct drivers which you'll be able to download from Presonus) so that it can be used in either format.
Good luck....h

Hi Steve,Thanks for your reply. I have just bought the audiobox, its new and it comes with Studioone 2 or so it says on the box. The user guide says insert the installer disc but there is no disc. On the actual interface is a sticker which says register with Presonus and when i register they want a 20 or 28 digit code and again there is no such code.I am waiting for the dealer to come back to me on this but they don't seem to know how to sort this out.I find the Presonus web page a bit confusing so can you or somebody maybe give me a link to somehow contact their tech support directly. The reason I bought the interface is the soundcard on my desk top is not that good. The interface has 5 pin sockets and i no longer have midi cable. Will I need cables or will the usb cable work. Thanks again. Jack

Hello again Jack...
The usb o/p to host should work directly into your p.c. without needing the Audiobox but will probably need the correct driver from Yamaha. However this will only transmit midi performance data to an S1 instrument track so you'll need to put Presence or something similar onto the track to hear what you've recorded being played back with the voicing from Presence or similar.
If you wish to to record the actual analogue output from the DGX then you'll need to take the phones o/p from the DGX into the Audiobox using a trs instrument cable to convert from analogue to digital onto an S1 audio track (wav).
On the Presonus site look for 'Support' there you'll be able to register your product and contact the support team but you'll need to log in most probably. If you are locked out because you cannot find a code for your Audiobox then post again and maybe we can get one of the forum moderators to contact Support on your behalf. One way or another we'll get you up and running with S1.
Regards.....

Jack, if you want, send me a picture via private message of the serial number on your AB, and I can assist with registration. Once you have the AB registered, you will then see a version of Studio One V3 in your account, all the licensing information for the software, and will also give you access to the regular forums for posting.
They stopped including the discs in the packaging, because a lot of the software and drivers are stale by the time it gets to the end user. Just a little bump in the road, and we will have you up and running.
Just so you are aware, I am a moderator here for the forums. Didn't want you to think I was just a random nut-ball asking for your information. Scratch that. I am in fact a random nut-ball, but in this case I have some value.

Steve gave you correct information regarding your hook up to use the keyboard. Make sure that the drivers are loaded to use the midi function. Most current drivers for that device can be found at this link:

Thanks guys,i am a relatively old [age wise] newbie and what I was doing when asked was ticking the software box instead of the hardware box. Once I got this right I am now registered and have downloaded all the software, i need to check that it is installed on my desktop but I am still not sure of how to connect it up.Also I have now changed from my yamaha to my casio and i guess i will have to download the drivers for this piano.I use a usb cable from the piano to the desktop and record audio with audacity and midi with cakewalk but because the box has 5 pin input output sockets I don't know whether i need mdii cables or whether the usb cable is all that is required.jack

Connection is going to be based on the keyboard. If the only connection is midi breakout (5pin), then your interface would need midi capabilities. If the keyboard has a USB connection, then that can go right into the computer.
For the AB. Download the latest drivers from your account. Install the drivers first, without connecting the AB. The driver install will prompt you to connect the device. The AB is a port specific device, so it needs to connect to the same USB port everytime. It's not recommended to use a USB hub to connect the AB.
Another thing to note. On a USB cluster on your mobo, the USB speed is determined by the slowest device on the cluster. The AB is a USB 1 device, so it may slow down other devices on the same cluster. May not mean anything for you at this point, but if you start seeing performance issues with other connected devices, that may be the culprit.

Hi again, could not understand your inputs, not your fault i just don't understand the terminology, so I went back to the dealer and heres what he said.usb from piano to computer, usb from audiobox to computer.Headphone jack to audiobox using a cable that has mini plug on one end and 2 1-4 jacks on other end plugged into front 2 sockets of audiobox. One plug is black marked pin the other is red marked ring. Dont know what that means but thats how it is now connected. There is no piano sound and no midi recording in cakewalk.Went to the presonus tutorialsand tried to follow Joe Gelber in setting up studio one and could not set up the latency requirements because I could not find the screen he went to on the studio one screen on my computer so could not go any further. I will talk to the dealer again and look for another tutorial.
